The Temple icon of St. Gabriel

Short description

An icon from the Samtavro monastery.

It was consecrated on the relics of Elder Gabriel.

The size of the icon with a baguette is 63*52 cm.

There are 2 pendants on the back of the icon.

A reliquary with a piece of the mantle and the same funeral plaque is inserted into the icon. On which the body of the elder was laid shortly after his righteous death. The elder’s body was wrapped in a robe and fastened to a board with monastic straps. The board itself is kept in the museum of the Samtavro monastery. And a small particle of it is inserted into this moshevik.
